- UK police have paid out about 1.5 million over the past three years to victims of police dog bites. Approximately 2,700 "suspects", 196 police and 155 "non-suspects" were bitten.
- Ontario bringing back the irrational with a $500 fine to a man whose dog was left untethered outside a supermarket and attacked three people, one severely. Nothing says justice like a piddly $500 fine! But please, keep killing Pit bulls and criminalizing responsible dog guardians in lieu of, say, criminalizing irresponsible dog guardians like this douche-canoe.
- If this dog had bitten someone, he'd be called a Pit Bull, but since he saved someone's life, he gets to be a Lab mix! Magic!
- The Gray Catbird feels very miffed with their name, considering most of the fledglings are killed by domestic cats. Keep you cats indoors, people, and save the Gray Catbird fledglings from being eaten.
- A 60-yr-old Albatross hatched another baby, is wondering where her retirement fund is located.
Farmed Animals
- Recent research shows that chickens have the ability to relate to others and empathize.
Dog Bites
- Two cattle dogs in Oregon mauled a woman jogging, inflicting multiple bite wounds. The woman broke her ankle when she was dragged to the ground. The dogs have bitten people before.
- A mixed breed dog was attacked by a dog described as a Labrador mix. The attacked dog was on leash when the attacking dog broke free from his leash and mauled the other dog. The attacked dog spent a night at the vet's office, while the owner of the Lab walked off.
- A stray dog, described as a Labrador Retriever mix bit a woman.
- A woman and her small dog in Australia were attacked by an off-leash, large dog. Both survived relatively unscathed.
- A loose mixed breed dog attacked a man, following him until apparently the man "out-walked" the dog.
- An Alaskan Malamute in New South Wales severely mauled a young child, leaving the victim hospitalized in stable condition. The dog had escaped from his yard.
- In a baffling court decision, a woman was charged after her two leashed Greyhounds defended themselves from an unleashed Jack Russell Terrier, resulting in the death of the smaller dog. Thankfully, the woman didn't kill her dogs and instead took them to training and keeps them muzzled in public (which she shouldn't have to do if people would keep their aggressive dogs properly confined).
- A Shiba Inu who ate some toes will be evaluated for adoption.
- Two Akitas in the UK - where Pit Bulls are banned - mauled a Labrador Retriever being walked on a leash. The dogs were unleashed and running free.
- A German Shepherd in the UK, left tied up outside a supermarket, attacked a woman when she somehow became entangled in the dog's lead. An off-duty police officer was able to lead the dog away.
- A woman in the UK with a history of stealing dogs and allowing her dogs to run loose was jailed after a dog she owned, a Labrador Retriever-Shar-Pei cross broke into a neighbor's yard, attacked the Staffordshire Bull Terrier living there and bit the 15-yr-old SBT's owner when he tried to intervene.
- A mixed breed dog - not described as a Pit Bull - killed a Chihuahua in Western Australia, where Pit Bulls are theoretically banned.
- A large, long-haired, mixed breed dog bit a girl in Ontario, where Pit Bulls are banned.
- A stupid person in San Francisco has let her dog attack five people in the past several years and has blamed the victims in every single case. Now her dog, a German Shepherd, faces a death sentence if his stupid guardian does not smarten up and muzzle the dog when he is in public, about to bite people.
- A Labrador-Mastiff and a Weimaranar-Viszla killed a German Short Hair Pointer while all dogs were off-leash (the three dogs got into a fight). The two surviving dogs were returned to their guardian.
